Sept. 30. The Cajun Youth Athletic Association is holding registration for its Babe Ruth Baseball League until Sept. 30. The league is for area baseball players ages 13-15, and the cost for registration is $45 per player. All league games will be six innings long. Oct. 1. The Thibodaux Biddy Basketball will register boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 12, on the following days: October 1st from 8:00am 10:00am and October 5th from 6:00pm 8:00pm. Both days we will register participants at the Peltier Park Recreation Center. Registration forms will not be mailed out this year, but will be delivered to each school. Oct. 15. The ED White Catholic Cardinal Day at the Links, a golf outing for men and women, is set for Oct. 15 at Thibodauxs Bayou Club Golf Course. The ED White Alumni Association invites all ED White alumni and friends to participate. It is an 8 am shotgun start with an individual score format ($70 per golfer). The deadline to register is Sept. 30. For information, call ED Whites school office at 446-8486.
Oct. 22. The Nicholls State baseball team will hold its Second Annual Colonel Baseball Alumni Day on Oct. 22. Festivities will start with the annual homecoming parade beginning at 10:30 am, followed by a fall baseball exhibition game against Millsaps at 11 am During the game, Mitch Thompson will be at the right-field pavilion with a grill and an ice chest full of drinks. After the game, alumni, fans and friends will stick around to tailgate with the Colonels for the football game against Stephen F. Austin which begins at 5:30 pm Nicholls baseball coach Seth Thibodeaux is currently working on setting up a tent in the end zone for all alumni baseball players. Any baseball alumni planning on attending are asked to give Thibodeaux advance notice so he can provide enough food and drinks, as well as tickets to the football game.
