Cyndi Lauper is the latest singer to have a wee bit of trouble with the lyrics to "The Star-Spangled Banner."

While performing the national anthem at the U.S. Open on Saturday following a moment of silence in remembrance of 9/11, the Grammy winner flubbed a few of the words by unintentionally replacing "O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming" with "O'er the ramparts we watched as our flag was still streaming."

Of course, this is the exact same line that Christina Aguilera botched during an otherwise rousing rendition of the song earlier this year at the Super Bowl.

Story: In 9/11 movies, it's little moments that touch us

Although, in Lauper's case, one could argue that, given the emotions associated with the tribute at hand, such a mistake is somewhat understandable. In fact, the singer herself seemed to suggest that after the fact.

"Whew, I just did the anthem for the US open. It was an awesome experience. I got choked up in the middle remembering 9/11," she tweeted. "The moon shone done (sic) on us and I tried to say a prayer at the same time. I hope I didn't mess up too bad. I wanted it to be comforting."
