Ways to Get More Out of the Gym

According to Laura Newcomer of Greatist, there is so much to learn inside and outside the gym. Regardless of whether you are a beginner or veteran, Laura has suggested ways on how to get more out of the gym.

To stay discipline, Laura suggested that it is better to work out with a personal trainer. This is because most people who work out with trainers are likely to stick with their routines compared to people who exercise in their own.

In addition, Laura advised you to find a partner in order to increase accountability and motivation for exercise. During a workout, it is advisable to bring sufficient water to hydrate yourself.

To focus on your workout, only go to the gym during times where there is no much crowd. This also prevents you in piling up at the weights or cardio machines. Aside from gym exercises, engage in sports activities to maintain health and increase rate of metabolism.

Social Interaction Effects of Alcohol

I?ve read some interesting information in an article from Men?s Fitness stating that alcohol can improve how people get along with each other.

This statement was supported by researchers from the University of Pittsburgh. The researchers studied and observed strangers and group them into three. The scientists just told the participants that they are studying how alcohol affects their work tasks. But this is just a fallacy to hide their true intention which is to study the effects of alcohol in social interactions.

The first group was given vodka and cranberry while the second group was only provided with cranberry juice. In addition, the third group was given a virgin cocktail in glasses wiped with alcohol.

Results showed that the group who drank vodka and cranberry was getting along with each other compared to the other groups. It also seems that the first group was having too much conversation and a fun time. This group really smiled and laughed more as opposed to the others.

The results of the study clearly show that moderate drinking of alcohol can improve social interaction even with strangers.

Greatist Workout of the Day

Here is another post from Greatist Workout of the Day (GWOD) that would surely help you intensify your workout.

In one week, it is advisable to rest for at least 2 times. Same with the other posts, the exercise is composed of supersets. In set A, the Greatist team recommends that you do rack pulls for 3 sets in 6 reps. Along with that is 2 sets of close grip bench press within 8 reps.

Start set B with an assisted chin-up/eccentric chin-up that should be done in 3 sets of 5 reps. After which is you follow it with 3 sets of 1-legged hip thrusts for about 5 reps.

For set C, perform a single leg stability ball hamstring curl in 3 sets of 6 reps per leg. Then, execute 3 sets of 8 reps of half-kneeling cable lift. In set D, execute 2 sets of 10 reps of band pull aparts and 5 reps of yoga plex per leg.
