An accident involving a party bus near the George Washington Bridge has left a teenager dead.

Parents said the double-decker bus was filled with about 65 students from Holy Cross and Francis Prep High School in Queens, celebrating a Sweet 16 party Friday night.

The Port Authority said a 16-year old boy from Sayerville, New Jersey was killed after he put his head through the roof hatch of the bus and it struck an overpass on Interstate 95

"One of the kids was in the party bus," said one witness. "He stuck his head through the hatch and apparently it was hit."

"I heard there was an accident and I'm here to pick up my son and anybody else we can and find out what's going on," said one parent at the scene.

The bus was operated by Designer Limousines, a Long Island company that advertises its double-decker as the largest custom-made party bus in the country.

The investigation caused major delays on the George Washington Bridge.
